Photographer Robin Moore and National Geographic make a pitch

The photographs resonated with my sons and me. We too had taken a boat trip to the islands earlier this year soon after the whole story came to the fore. The trip, hosted by the Jamaica Environment Trust, did not allow for an overnight stay but it provided a first hand view of the beauty of the natural environs, the importance of the location as a natural habitat for rare flora and fauna of land and sea, its source of income for fishermen and women as well as its potential as a tour destination for those who appreciate the a more laid back type of vacation.
Robin, you pretty much saw what we did, and more. You, however, were able to capture the moment for posterity, and while doing so, played a significant role in telling our story to the world and, hopefully, saving Goat Islands.
We were both honoured and delighted to have hosted you, Robin.
