I was in the kitchen making lasagnas and heard my guest, Basil calling urgently, Michelle...Michelle! I hurriedly joined him on the verandah and, lo and behold, another breathtaking vista from Neita's Nest.. This time, a full arched rainbow grounded between interlocking mountains. Thanks for capturing it, Basil. These are a few of my favourite things...

Yesterday, I left Kingston and drove to Ferry on the border of St. Catherine to meet Junior. We were exchanging produce. I brought water lilies which were on sale at Hope Botanical Gardens and he brought a cornucopia of vegetables, lovingly sent by Aunt Pearl in St. Elizabeth, the "Bread Basket Parish" of Jamaica. What fair exchange!
I came home and sank my teeth into a huge, deep red, juicy and sweet, vine-ripened tomato. It was so good! Today we will be stewing tomatoes and baking home-made vegetable lasagnas for our guests from London. Call us to place your order for these delicious lasagnas. Visiting Neita's Nest was an absolute delight. The rooms were tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery while eating breakfast and using authentic Jamaican products. Our host, Michelle, was amazing. She made us feel at home, and I felt sad when I had to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We arrived at Neita’s Nest after cancelling our hostel accommodation. Michelle (the owner) responded to our request to stay immediately and even arranged for a taxi (with Lester - who is an excellent guide) to pick us up. Within 15 minutes we were on our way to Neita’s and it was the best decision we made! The place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are light and airy with amazing views overlooking Kingston from the hills...Michelle provide[d] everything we could need and offered us tea before bed. Dressing gowns, towels, fresh water - it was so lovely...The breakfast was delicious - coffee, fresh juice, fresh fruit, bread and eggs… Thanks, Michelle for being an excellent host and making us feel so welcome 😊😊
