Yosef, loaded with packages, returned from shopping at our recommended Craft Cottage saying, "Let's do a Show and Tell". He delighted in showing his purchases of Jamaican gifts to take home for friends and family. There were scented soaps, hand painted boxes, colourful masks, and one book. When he pulled up the book for his grandson, out came "Bolo the Monkey". "Jonothan!" I remarked. "What?" asks Yosef. "Jonothan Burke," I replied. "He is the author. He is a friend of mine. I should invite him over to meet you". Yosef was all the more excited about his purchase. He donned his new head gear of Jamaican colours, also acquired from Craft Cottage, and posed for the pic. A brief email with photo to Jonothan announcing that Bolo is heading to Jersey, was included an invitation to join us for breakfast. It was a "Yes", and the rest is history. Delightful conversation was shared over breakfast, and Yosef got his book signed by the author. In Jamaica we call this a "Buck-up" |

Visiting Neita's Nest was an absolute delight. The rooms were tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery while eating breakfast and using authentic Jamaican products. Our host, Michelle, was amazing. She made us feel at home, and I felt sad when I had to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We arrived at Neita’s Nest after cancelling our hostel accommodation. Michelle (the owner) responded to our request to stay immediately and even arranged for a taxi (with Lester - who is an excellent guide) to pick us up. Within 15 minutes we were on our way to Neita’s and it was the best decision we made! The place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are light and airy with amazing views overlooking Kingston from the hills...Michelle provide[d] everything we could need and offered us tea before bed. Dressing gowns, towels, fresh water - it was so lovely...The breakfast was delicious - coffee, fresh juice, fresh fruit, bread and eggs… Thanks, Michelle for being an excellent host and making us feel so welcome 😊😊
